Clutter

How cluttered is your mind? When you wander through your mind do you trip over many things, thoughts, worries, concerns or do you soar freely through with room to spare? As you begin to meditate you often find that it is difficult or hard or frustrating because you cannot create the blank canvas that is often spoken of by teachers and other mediators. You sit and wait for the silence and it doesn’t come because you are so busy with the clutter of your life racing through your mind. Your lives are so full of things and appointments and must do’s and people and schedules, that to allow for nothing seems a waste or a luxury you cannot afford. You cannot afford not to be silent. Silence speaks volumes. It is in the silence that creation can take place, that bliss can be achieved and pure surrender can occur.

Until you experience the feeling of nothingness and pure silence you cannot know how magnificent it feels to not do, but to simply be. Most of you are uncomfortable being. You believe that doing is the only state of living. You must have a project or a place to go or a chore or a purpose in each and every moment. Then you exhaust your Selves in these activities and often awaken to find that you have nothing. Most of you are running from the silence. You fear being alone. What is alone? First, no one is alone. You may be by your Self without the benefit of company, but you are never alone. Once you learn to journey inside of your Self you will find a wonderful world full of answers and enlightenment and joy and fulfillment that you never thought possible. As long as you continue to believe that life happens outside of you then you will continue to be lonely. The journey to Self is a crooked one for most. There are many twists and turns. There are demons (of your own making) to fight and beliefs to dispel that do not serve you. It is not a boring journey in the least and yet so many of you shy away from it and prefer to continue the clutter of your lives with day-to-day worries that you can so very easily turn into mountains of pain and sorrow and martyrdom.

Feng Shui is big for many right now. It is the Asian study of wind and water and how to best align your lives to be in harmony. So you work and read and rearrange you homes and offices and other things according to a book and believe that you have achieved peace or harmony or whatever you seek. You believe that if you clear your wealth area you will find money and yet when all is said and done you are in the same place because you do not give your Self the luxury and attention you have just given to your things. You are the best thing you own. You are your finest possession. Take the time to clear your Self and rearrange your Self for better harmony. If you do this, the rest will fall into place.

We leave with hope.
